So, in October 2023, Bungie layed off around 100 employees, mostly of those who are veterans at Bungie from making games like Halo Series and Destiny 1 and most of Destiny 2. Bungie recently reported that their next expansion “The Final Shape” was slated for Feb 2024, but then it got delayed until June 4, 2024. Bungie are doing whatever they can to cost-cutting things. Sony could take over Bungie if their next expansion fails to meet expectations. There are number of employees that they feel like “No one is safe” working at Bungie now.

Destiny 2 used to be my favorite game to play, and I played it almost every day. Back then when Destiny 1 launched and all through Destiny 2 – The Witch Queen DLC, I used to get on every day and play it. Here lately though, I just haven’t feel the itch to get on, maybe because I am burned out on the seasonal models. Bungie did say that they are doing something like Chapters next year when “The Final Shape” launches. Is that going to be any different then the model we got now? Only time will tell. Overall, I don’t won’t Bungie to fail. Back in the good ole days of Halo series, and Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, I’ve been playing a lot of Bungie games, but here lately, I have just fallen off from playing those games, probably because there are too many games out right now to be playing Destiny 2 at the moment.
