Quakecon has started today, and a surprising announcement of Doom I and Doom II will get enhanced versions of the game. This update is filled with Upgraded visuals, cross-platform multiplayer, 4K support, brand new episodes by idSoftware, and more. This is for the Nintendo eShop, which I have already bought when it first came out, I just haven’t played it as much. I may test this out this weekend though.
Owners will be receiving:
- Doom
- Doom II
- TNT: Evilution
- The Plutonia Experiment
- Master Levels for Doom II
- No Rest for the Living
- Sigil
- Legacy of Rust (new episode by idsoftware, Nightdive studios, and MachineGames)
- A new Deathmatch map pack featuring 25 maps
There’s a total of 187 mission maps and 43 deathmatch maps in Doom and Doom II.
The New Enhancements will receive:
- Online, cross-platform deathmatch and co-op for up to 16 players
