GOG has officially confirmed that it is currently developing a native Linux supper for the GOG Galaxy launcher. I use linux for my computer (CachyOS), so this is good news for all Linux Gamers out there. There is no release date as of yet, but hopefully it should be soon that we will hear more about this year. Also, GOG has offered DRM-free Linux game downloads, and has been since 2014. The Galaxy Launcher has been remained exclusive to Windows and macOS until now.
The company is being careful to set some expectations of this Galaxy on Linux. So, the company is not yet sharing these things that people want to know:
- A launch date
- Beta testing plans
- System Requirements
- Support Linux Distributions
- Feature parity details
What all of these things means is that you can make it easier for installations and updating of GOG titles. Even made native achievements synchronization.
